About Me

As a Louisville, Kentucky native, I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I have a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from The University of the Cumberlands and a Bachelor of Arts in Mental Health Counseling from Lindsay Wilson College. I have previous experience as a Clinical Therapist, Behavioral Therapist, and Clinical Director working in substance abuse, dual-diagnosis, mental health facilities and immediate care facilities for individuals with disabilities.

My diverse work experience has allowed me to grow into the therapist I am today. I began work with adolescents with intellectual and developmental disabilities at a long term inpatient mental health facility.  I transitioned to working with adults with dual diagnosis mental health and substance abuse challenges. I also have extensive experience with working with children, adolescents and adults with behavioral and life-skill interventions. Overall, I have over 6 years working with substance abuse and over 10 years working with mental and behavioral health! I had the opportunity to gain experience in a private practice setting before starting my own practice in 2020.

As you experience my website and continue your search for a well-fitting therapist, please let me know if there is anything further about my experience, credentials, or education that would be helpful to know.

Whatever difficult situation you are facing, you do not have to do it alone. I honor your courage in seeking therapy and will offer you a safe space and empathic, caring support in your journey toward reconnecting with your own strengths and finding purpose and joy in your life, despite your circumstances. I utilize and is experienced in providing the following types of evidence-based treatment: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, and trauma-informed care, person-centered, and solution-focused therapeutic approaches. However, therapy is not one size fits all. My approach to therapy is not one theoretical method, but rather, I individualize treatment for each client to provide excellent, customized therapy experiences. I believe therapy should be a partnership between the therapist and client.

I am an empowering therapist. I unfortunately can not fix your problems, but I can help you develop the courage to tackle issues to make the necessary changes. I can provide you with the education and tools that you need so that you can develop solutions to your own challenges. I most importantly want you to know that I am non-judgmental. I am human first and a therapist second. I am an open book.

Feel free to ask me anything. I have had my own set of difficult challenges, rough paths, and life changes. I provide empathy and compassion and I am willing to work just as hard as you are so that you can meet your goals.
